Meet Brian

 

Brian Copeland

Brian Copeland has been teaching kettlebells, martial arts / self defense and been a personal trainer in the Aurora, Denver area for several years and has a wide body of experience and education in nutrition, motivation, pain relief, athletics and combatives.

 

Brian is an Aurora, Colorado based RKC kettlebell instructor, Z-Health Level 4 Exercise Therapy Specialist and Progressive Fighting Systems Martial Arts instructor.

The RKC system of kettlebell training focuses on the development of strength, power, healthy joints and over-the-top cardio conditioning. RKC Instructors are top notch in the personal training world.

Z-Health focuses on the elimination of pain, improving posture and athletic performance through the development of the nervous system. It utilizes subtle and small movements, visual and vestibular training and basically reeducates your nervous system to super-charge your body. Certified Z-Health Performance Coaches are in the top 1% of all Personal Trainers, Doctors, Physical Therapists, Massage Therapists, Combatives and Martial Arts Coaches in the world.

Brian is also a Self-Defense/Martial Arts Instructor certified through Paul Vunak and Progressive Fighting Systems. Brian focuses on realistic Self-Defense for real situations including defense against guns, knives, fists, assault/rape, etc. Brian teaches the same system Paul taught to the Navy's infamous SEAL Team Six and has extensive training with Law Enforcement and Corrections Officers.

Brian enjoys helping people reach their fitness goals whether that means getting lean, enhancing sport performance or building an injury proof back and joints for healthy pain-free living.

Brian has trained professional boxers, Police, military, firefighters, people with back injuries and everyday men and women looking to get strong and fit. His clients range in age from teenagers to grandparents in their 70s.

Many moons ago, Brian suffered severe pain for roughly 8 years from 2 severely herniated discs in his lower back. Frustrated by the lack of information out there for how to heal and told by doctors that surgery, drugs and/or living with the pain were his only options, he tried everything he could get his hands on to improve his condition and was completely frustrated.

Finally Brian was introduced to kettlebell training. Within 6 months of kettlebell training he felt virtually no pain. Then he was introduced to Z-Health. Within days of the Z-Health Brian was completely pain-free and moved more fluid than he had ever moved in his life. All of this after 8 years of daily pain!

Since this time Brian has helped others eliminate back, neck, knee and shoulder pain and improve their body's athleticism and strength.

Brian has a background in MMA (mixed Martial Arts), everything from western boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jujitsu, Jun Fan, Jeet Kune Do, Wing Chun Gung Fu, Judo, Escrima/Kali, Tae Kwon Do, Krav Maga, full contact Karate, submission grappling and more. If you are a fighter you can't go wrong having Brian develop your athleticism! Or fighting skill for that matter.

When Brian isn’t training a client, he is training himself with kettlebells, lifting odd objects like heavy tractor tires, tearing decks of playing cards in half, practicing martial arts, learning other languages, going to church or watching Battlestar Galactica (the new one not the old 70's one, dear Lord!) For some reason all of us geeks have to plug BSG.

Brian is committed to continuing his education of human performance and incorporates a variety of disciplines from human neurology to biomechanics to Yoga to Martial Arts to Powerlifting and everything in-between.

  • Completed US Secret Service Snatch Test in under 10 minutes (200 reps with a 53 lb kettlebell)
  • RKC and TSC-style snatch test - 115 reps in under 5 minutes with a 53 lb kettlebell
  • Quartered 82 poker cards (a full deck and a half plus 4)
  • Winner Denver Kettlebell Competition 32 kg (70 lb) division, - Spring 2005
  • Bulldog Tamer (Using a 90 lb kettlebell, a strict 1-arm military press, a strict tactical pull up and a 1-leg squat or pistol)
