Tore A Full Deck of Card Duct Taped!
Dear Brian,
I have purchased you Ebook about a month ago. Your book very much summarizing all aspects of strength training for bending/tearing. You also give great plan for improving the strength, following this plan leads to success for sure. I just tore a full deck of card into half, so I know what I am talking about… :-)
Also, I just did a vertical tear and I also wrapped duct tape around a deck and tore it!

I cycled 150 miles for the first time!!
I want to thank you for your support in my very successful quest for the 2-day, 150 mile Bike MS tour. I did very little on-the-bike training this year, with only a handful of training rides under my belt. I'm convinced that it was Kettlebell training that made the difference. So thank you for all the 5 minute swing tests, all the dead lifts, pistols and front squats, all the Tabata drills (especially the Tabata's!) ;) and all the Z-health! My knees thank you too, as I had NO knee pain on the bike for the first time in 3 years, while clocking more miles than in my past 2 attempts at this event!!
I know you say that your KB method is not meant for training for long endurance events, but I respectfully disagree. That might be the case if I was going at really fast racing speeds, but at my personal best charity ride pace I had so much endurance, especially on the first day! I only felt winded on the climbs. And I know that it was the raw strength and confidence I've gained that got me up those hills with more ease than ever before! There were even times along the way where my husband had a hard time keeping up with me - which never used to happen.
I have also gained a bragging husband. A motorcycle trooper who was volunteering on the route came up next to us on one of the bigger climbs. Scott jokingly made a gesture to him about them switching bikes. The trooper said if Scott could get 5 miles ahead of me then they could switch bikes, but that he was rooting for me. My husband said, "I know, have you seen those guns on her?" He then asked me to tell the trooper what I dead lift. I'm a small-framed woman at 5'4" and I get a kick out of shocking people by telling them that I dead lift 176 lbs, which is almost 1 1/2 times my body weight! And I love that my husband gets a kick out of bragging like that.
To top it all off, I had a massage therapist compliment me this weekend. A friend of our team captain came up to give chair massages to the team on Saturday. She told me that I was so toned it was difficult to tell on me what was a toned muscle vs. a tight muscle!!
Saying I'm thrilled with all this is an understatement. A word to the women out there who think that they can't lift that much, or do a certain exercise - yes you can!! And you won't get bulky, masculine muscles doing so. You'll get people noticing and complimenting you on how toned you look and you'll get the confidence to try things you never thought you could do.

Improve Core Strength and Reduce Low Back Pain
My Chiropractor referred me to Brian and kettlebells. I was looking to improve my core strength and reduce the pain in my lower back. I have seen definite improvements in both, as well as I have decreased the pain I had in my shoulders.
I really like the strength I get from kettlebells and how it translates into everyday activities, it makes them easier. I would absolutely recommend that you train with Brian!

Best Results in 10 Years!
I've been lifting weights for about 10 years, and I've been using kettlebells for about 3 years. I considered myself to be pretty knowledgeable in the ways of strength and conditioning, but I thought I'd try some professional advice.
I've been using Brian's services for about 4 months and here is an example of what he's done for me. I was in the gym on my back-off/rest week just trying to do 60% of my normal workout, and some friends of mine were jabbing at me a bit because I don't workout "normal" like them. They sort of challenged my man hood and so I took them up on a bench press test which is supposed to be the true measure of a man. Now I haven't done any bench press at all for about 5 months, or anything that I can imagine directly worked my chest, but I amazed even myself with the results. I put on a little weight to "warm up", added a little more, and kept going until I benched 285lbs with relative ease and I just quit there because I didn't really want to max and ruin my week off, or hurt myself. I didn't get it. I never lifted that much weight with such ease even when I was doing a lot, and I mean a lot, of bench press. The weight just seemed to fly up like someone else was helping me.
In the 10 years of lifting before I started working with Brian, I've never been able to improve my total body strength and conditioning so effectively in such little time. Thanks Brian.

Top 1% of patients in the 50 year old bracket
Last month I had my checkup and the doc said at 57 years young I was in the top 1% of his patients in the 50 year old bracket. My left shoulder is just about 95% better thanks to your help with the joint mobility and other tips. I can finally press the 28kg for singles without any pain with my left arm, slow but sure.
By the way, keep up the great news letter, I look forward reading it every month. It always has some great tips.

If only I lived in Denver!
I would definitely recommend Brian to others!
If I lived in the Denver area, I'd be a regular client of Brian's!
I have been working out with kettlebells for about 3 months, using a video, but wasn't sure if I had the technique and form quite right.
I was searching in Google online for kettlebell instructors or classes and ran across Brian's Core Fitness website. There is a wealth of information on his site and when I saw where his studio is located, I thought "hmmm, I'm flying into Denver for a long weekend in Colorado Springs and maybe I can scheduled an hour session with Brian to get some personal instruction using kettlebells." Brian was great about accommodating my flight schedule so we could fit a training session in the morning I arrived before I drove down to Colorado Springs.
My training session with Brian was amazing! He showed me where my form was off and what to do to correct it. His instruction included explaining (in layman's terms) how improper form can result in injury. Brian gave me practice exercises to do once I returned home to reinforce the correct technique & form. It was also very helpful to get his recommendation on what size kettlebell(s) I should use. I was pretty much in the dark when I bought my kettlebells and guessed at the size to use.
After working with Brian, I discovered that I am stronger than I thought I was and can handle a heavier weight kettlebell than what I had previously been using.
Later that day, Brian sent me an email summarizing all the information we had gone over so I have it to reference now that I'm back in Virginia. I will definitely stay in touch with Brian and hopefully get a chance to work with him again in the future.

Technique comes first
I have a B.S. in Exercise Science and am studying to become a CHEK practitioner. I purchased some kettlebells for some variety in training for my clients and myself. I purchased some private sessions with Brian after a referral from a friend. I thought Brian could show me a couple pointers as how to properly train with kettlebells.
By the fist lesson I learned that I had greatly underestimated the intricacies of true kettlebell training. I was so impressed with Brain and the RKC system of training that I am going to get certified this summer. To help me prepare Brian developed a home program that I have no doubt will get me where I need to be in time for the certification.
As a fitness professional I would highly recommend Brian not only for his kettlebell knowledge, but also his knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and his easy to follow teaching style.

I Never Thought I'd Be Complimented On My Abs!!!
My husband was a very happy client of Brian's so I decided to give it a shot. I wanted to increase my strength, flexibility and tone. I also hoped to improve some chronic pain situations I had experienced for a number of years.
Now my strength has improved considerably. I am happy with the improvement in the tone and shape of my body and the chronic pain in my elbow, neck and shoulder that I have had for years has significantly decreased!
The variety and flexibility of the workouts that Brian provides keeps me interested. I find the repetitive nature of other workout regimens to be boring and I don't tolerate boredom/repetition well.
Several friends, coworkers and family members have complemented me on my thinner, more fit appearance. Comments like, "Boy your pants are really baggy!" and "Have you lost weight?"
allow me to tell them about my work with Brian. I never thought I would be complemented on my abs - but I have been.
How exciting!!!
I recommend Brian to all of my friends, family and coworkers, and to anyone reading this testimonial.

A Gifted Instructor
Brian is a gifted instructor with a keen eye for form and for what can work for each individual. Not only does he bring enthusiasm and a sense of humor to his training, but a wide understanding of joint, muscle anatomy and function which is so important for injury prevention and rehab.
If Brian's martial arts and sports background, combined with his first hand experience with severe back injury and his own incredible recovery into a pain free 'strong man' isn't enough, his ever increasing physical knowledge base - which now includes material written on grip training - makes him the right man to work with. I recommend his training and coaching style highly for anyone who is interested in pursuing kettlebells, strength and fitness!

Now I'm Pain-Free!
I originally discovered Brian because a coworker of mine was seeing phenomenal improvements in her body so I asked her how she was doing it.
When I first started training with Brian I was so out of shape that any amount of activity would cause pain. First some background. I was in a bad car accident 20 years ago and as a result my T1-T10 spine is fused and I have rods in L3-S1. On top of that I had severe shoulder pain and knee pain. Every day I would wake up wondering where I would hurt; this was before training with Brian.
I had been in physical therapy for years and as long as I kept up with it I could keep the pain manageable but that is hardly living life; I didn't want to be in "rehab" my whole life!
After only a short time training with Brian I started to notice tremendous changes. I had no more pain all over my body. I got amazing improvement in flexibility and range of motion in my bad shoulders. My energy level has increased dramatically and my endurance is astounding.
I have learned to listen to my body and how to use that for improvement rather than it keeping me down.
It is amazing how proper kettlebell training can be so complete for overall fitness and because it is low impact I can even do it with my physical limitations. And it is so versatile that there is always something new for exercise or a great cardio workout. I'm never bored.
Brian has the ability to find the way you learn and get motivated. I do every time. Not only because he is great at training kettlebells but because of his extensive knowledge of overall fitness. Brian has helped me in so many more ways, from overall health, skin, energy, attitude, even improved my outlook on life.
There is no greater gift someone can give than to improve one's quality of life and Brian does that for me every day. There isn't enough that can be said about him because every day he impresses me with his knowledge, ability to teach and caring not only in regard to fitness but toward people as well.
BEFORE = Daily pain, fused spine and couldn't lift my arm overhead
NOW = (several months later) Snatching and pressing a 44 lb kettlebell pain-free, deadlifting more than my body-weight, and squatting two 53 lb kettlebells rock bottom all pain-free! I even got my first pull-up tonight!

I Sleep Better Now!
I was initially attracted to kettlebells as an activity to get back into shape after 15 years of not working out. I historically had knee problems and back problems that prohibited me from running and other hard contact sports that I had done in my 20’s. In addition, I needed something with the flexibility of training with a professional combined with the ability to do a workout on my own at home. I also wanted a situation where I could ramp up my commitment without signing an initial long term contract with a gym or a personal trainer.
As a father of two with a high stress job, one of the very first benefits I found with Brian was his ability to relate to me since he also came off a serious injury in the past and could understand the challenges of trying to get fit after a prolonged delay. By emphasizing proper technique and matching workouts to my current fitness levels, I felt real comfortable that I was progressing without putting undue strain on my body.
Within weeks, I was able to do several hours of yard work without feeling sore or real tired afterwards. In the second month, I noticed that I have slept better than I had in years. I have tried to decrease stress through long walks, lifting weights and treadmills in the past, but I believe the intensity of kettlebell workouts relieves an enormous amount of tension in comparison. I attribute these benefits to not only the kettlebell training, but Brian’s ability to teach flexibility and core development. I have also come to realize that kettlebell training is an intense cardio workout better than aerobics, with the ability to burn fat and increase stamina along with strength and flexibility.

Awesome Trainer!
I have been working with Brian for a year now, and I continue to be amazed at his depth of knowledge and commitment to his students. Over the last year Brian has helped me change my attitude towards weight work, and exercise in general. The comments I get about how good I look and how much weight I have lost aren't bad either.
After I had been working out for about six months my wife started coming with me, and recently our daughter also started taking some classes. Brian excels at teaching my daughter the basics, keeping her interested and at the same time making sure my wife and I get the attention we need to maintain our technique and learn new exercises. He always has a new way to terrorize us (insert evil laugh) and we continue to enjoy the class.
I have complete trust in Brian's ability to analyze your physical condition and develop a workout the first protects you and then helps you heal as you get stronger, fitter, and toned.
Thanks Brian

Grandmother Gets Empowered!
I began kettlebell training with Brian because my daughter raved about it and wouldn't leave me alone until I agreed to try it. Thank you Jenny!
When I started I wanted to lose weight, tone up and have more energy. I also wanted to find a fitness program that I wasn't bored with after the first week. Well I found that and more!
I immediately experienced improved strength, a boost in confidence, more muscle definition, weight loss and more energy than I know what to do with!
I am not a patient person so I really like the immediate results. It is challenging and I never get bored.
I would strongly recommend Brian to anyone who is looking to get in the best shape of their lives without hesitation! I would even stand on the street corner and hold up a sign!
After years of trying just about everything I feel like I have finally found the perfect fitness program! Maximum results in minimum time.
I LOVE the atmosphere at Copeland's Core Fitness, it is professional, friendly, never intimidating and always empowering. I feel younger, stronger and more confident every day!
Thank you Brian!

I just discovered Kettlebell training this past July. After looking at Brian's website, I immediately contacted him to give Kettlebells a try. At the time, I was nearing the end of physical therapy for nagging knee problems. I was drawn to Kettlebells because I needed to continue building strength in my glutes, quads and hamstrings to keep my knees strong.
The private instruction was excellent. Brian emphasized proper form and watched me closely to be sure I wasn't doing anything to harm my knees. He is very knowledgeable about Kettlebell training, physiology and exercise in general. I later began going to the group classes, which are equally fun. Brian gives his attention to each and every person in the class while giving us fun and challenging exercises.
Now just 2 months after my first Kettlebell class, (and only being able to go once a week) I can dead lift "The Beast", 106 lb, which is almost my body weight!! I didn't totally believe that I could do it, but tried because of the encouragement, camaraderie and friendly competition I find in the group classes. Brian was the first to say that we are stronger than we give ourselves credit for and he knew I could do it.
I had come to class in a really bad mood from a couple tough weeks at work and with no light at the end of the tunnel. I left class with a huge smile and feeling GREAT! I can't believe how strong I've gotten and in such a short amount of time.
This week, because of the stress at work, I pulled a muscle in my back and avoided going to Kettlebell. Finally, the itch got the better of me and I just had to go. Brian was very careful with my exercises yet still challenged me, and by later the same day my back pain was gone. The power of these funny looking weights still continues to amaze me.

I am thrilled to write this testimonial for Brian Copeland, strength trainer and kettlebell instructor, but first let me give you a brief perspective. I am a body therapist and have been weight training consistently since 1983. So I have better than average knowledge of anatomy, body mechanics and weight training principles.
I was cruising along with my training, working hard and getting decent results. However, I was also interested in making some dramatic changes and reducing the time that I spent in the gym. That’s when I had my serendipitous meeting with Brian. Immediately I saw that he had a detailed grasp of relevant weight training topics that included both cutting edge and “old-time” techniques. He spoke at length about the advantages and disadvantages of various programs and philosophies of training, and which might be the best fit to help me achieve my goals.
Brian then created a program for me that reduced both the number of exercises and the number of sets I had been doing. He included some kettlebell exercises that could be done with dumbbells and two exercises I had never had in my program, the deadlift and squats. Aided by his expert and detailed instruction, and I can’t emphasize the importance of this enough, I began to transition to the new program. Well, the proof is in the results…and they have been phenomenal! Within weeks I have accomplished the following; moved up 2-3 plates on two exercises, increased my bicep curls by almost 30%, strengthened my legs like never before (along with overcoming some nagging hamstring problems), and developed a more integrated, better functioning musculature. But that’s not even the best part. The biggest benefit is that I enjoy working out again.
Regardless of what stage you’re at in your training I am certain that you could benefit from working with Brian. He’s knowledgeable, thorough and an excellent instructor. My results were dramatic, I hope yours are too!

First off I am a certified Personal Trainer and I highly recommend Brian Copeland as a Personal Trainer. He has so much knowledge of effective training that only comes from years of experience and hard work. When I need help training my clients I go to Brian for his knowledge.
Years ago I was involved in two back-to-back car accidents that caused me severe injuries in my neck and lower back. My pain was so bad that I could not even ride in a car as the bumps caused so much pain. I went to some physical therapists but never saw any real results. I thought I was doomed to spend an eternity in pain and immobility. Luckily I knew Brian. Brian showed me some simple daily exercises that allowed me to gradually progress in my recovery. At first I didn’t believe these simple exercises would work, I wasn’t working very hard at all. But within what seemed like a short amount of time I noticed the following results; I could do a full squat all the way to the floor, my ankles, which had been very weak, were now strong and flexible and were no longer crooked from the car accident. I could pick things up, ride in a car and best of all I didn’t have the pain anymore.
Then I was hooked, not wanting to stop there I had Brian show me more. Now I can do 8 ‘guy-pushups’ on my toes! I was so inspired by the ability to help people I decided to go to school to become a personal trainer.
Thanks Brian!

I was close to loosing my job due to a low back injury; I work in a warehouse lifting heavy boxes all day and the pain was affecting my ability to do my job. I was seeing a Chiropractor 3 days per week and while it offered some temporary relief, I still had pain when lifting boxes.
Brian showed me how to make a ‘virtual belt’ with my midsection and showed me the proper way to bend down and lift a box while bracing. Not only did my pain go away but I instantly felt stronger! I was picking up boxes easily that used to seem fairly heavy.
Come to find out Brian actually used to be in my shoes with a back injury and working in a warehouse moving heavy boxes. His experience was invaluable to me and I now apply what he taught me anytime I lift anything heavy.

I was at an awards ceremony for work. I was filmed on video a couple of months earlier while giving a nomination for a coworker; this was right before Brian started training me. Well when my nominee was announced as the winner they played my video showing me with my former body, I happened to be standing right next to it while it played. After the ceremony people kept coming up to me commenting on how much weight I had lost and how great I looked. I lost over 25 lbs and over 6% of body fat. My strength and muscle tone went up also. Brian rocks!

Brian Is The Best!
Brian Copeland is a great teacher. He keeps his focus while training and doesn't waste any time getting down to business. He pushes you just enough and yet he makes sure that your form is perfect to keep everyone safe. But the best thing about Brian is that you can tell he is really passionate about what he is doing; he really cares. I am totally hooked on Kettlebells now!

..... .....
I started training with Brian because we are friends so I trust him completely. Let me just say that my trust in him has only grown since I started training with him. I had my 2nd child about 6 1/2 months ago, after I had my first child (about 3.5 years ago) I tried so hard to get back into shape but never saw the results that I wanted (not even remotely close to my before any baby shape and size). After my 2nd, I decided this was it; I'll do whatever it takes to get back to my target size. Before I trained with Brian, I was hitting the gym 3-5 times a week for at least 1-2 hours each time. I would typically spend at least half of that time doing some sort of cardio such as the treadmill, elliptical etc., the other half I would do "light weights". This combination was supposed to help me lose fat and tone muscle. I would hit the gym like this, then when I got home I would be starving. With this workout routine I was constantly adding one extra meal a day just to have the energy to do the workout, but I thought as long as I'm working out, I should see results, right? WRONG! I hated the results I was getting and I was getting very discouraged. I contacted Brian about personal training about 3 months after I had my 2nd child. Brian designed an at home workout that required no special equipment for me. I did this routine about 4-5 times a week for about 20-30 minutes each time. We also had discussions about my nutrition plan and he answered all my questions. We even talked about still allowing me a few cheat meals to enjoy the unhealthy foods that I love. After only 3-4 weeks on this routine I saw incredible results, I lost inches off my whole body! I was extremely motivated at this point because I lost 2 inches from my "tummy pooch" (anyone who has had a baby knows what I'm talking about!). I was amazed that I saw results like that in less than a month! Suddenly I had more energy and a boost of self confidence!
Since then, I have started kettlebell training with Brian about once a week. I was a little hesitant to try them until I saw a magazine article at Brian's studio. I was so inspired by this article and realized that I didn't have to be this big, bulging-muscles, meathead looking (insert image of Arnold Schwarzenegger) kind of guy to train with kettlebells. I'm completely amazed by the workout I receive from doing a seemingly simple thing as lifting this big, odd-looking iron ball around. I can't even start to tell you how many people have commented on how great I look, and to be honest, I really have been slacking in the working out department the past few months. Just imagine how smokin' I'd be if I actually did my workout, had willpower to turn away sweets and fried foods and was able to fit more kettlebell sessions into my schedule! Brian is extremely knowledgeable, he listens to my complaints (and sometimes whining) and tailors the exercises that we do to my body, my goals and my abilities. He takes the time to show and instruct me (sometimes over and over when I'm being particularly ditzy) so that I use the proper form at all times.
Brian makes the workout fun, short and simple and I'm still busting my butt the whole time! Since I've been having so much fun training with kettlebells, I've expressed an interest to Brian about someday maybe even competing in kettlebell competitions and becoming RKC certified. I would recommend this to all that I love and care for. Recently I was cleaning my closet and stumbled upon my favorite "skinny" shorts, I thought, what the heck, let me try them on to see how much farther I have to go to fit into them. I was ecstatic when they slipped right on and I was able to button them up without sucking my gut in! There's nothing like the feeling of being able to fit back into those "skinny" jeans that are hiding in your closet! Bottom line is, I'm not stuck at the gym for hours, I'm having tons more fun working out and I'm seeing incredible results. I went from a size 9/10 to 4/5 in these few months. If you want results, contact Brian, he'll do what it takes as long as you do too!

I feel stronger every day!!!!!
Brian is really good at being able to create a program for each individual at their particular level. I have been lucky enough to find out that he is totally supportive of all the students, including me!
One of the best things about coming to class is that Brian conveys his passion and enthusiasm for Russian Kettlebells while teaching basics and making sure that we all have the proper form. And he makes the work seem like fun! The hour goes by so quickly, and when it is over, I feel as if I am truly an athlete. And when I get discouraged, Brian continually encourages and inspires me. Many thanks to Brian for the great training! LONG LIVE THE KETTLEBELL!!!

Fine Tuning
About 2 months before I was headed off to my RKC training, I wanted to get some extra help and feedback from another RKC instructor. I was suffering from some external impingement in my shoulder - not good if you are going to a 3 day RKC training.
When I visited and had my session with Brian he had typed up a page of information to help me get ready for RKC and protect/strengthen my shoulder. He took time to check each one of my exercises and give solid feedback on each one.
His tips really payed off. I am 2 days away from going to MINN. and I am all in 1 piece!
Brian is very clear with his teaching cues and offers very helpful feedback. He is patient and takes his instruction very seriously.
I am very happy that I spent that time with Brian.

Train with Brian!
I have my B.S. in Kinesiology, and I am familiar various exercise programs, but I was looking for a way to supercharge my workouts and renew my interest. I only just heard about Kettlebells this year. I decided that I wanted check them out in April and found Brian's site online. I needed some expert training in this area.
Brian knows his KB exercises very well, and I recommend him to anyone for training. Since I started KB training, I haven't fallen off the exercise wagon. I am stronger, bigger, and leaner than I was before.
Brian knows more than just Kettlebells, and I have been impressed with his knowledge and expertise in exercise and nutrition. He is also a great guy to work with, too. He offers specialized personal training and has group training programs to offer.

Special testimonial for Brian Copeland, RKC from Thailand
Before saying anything, let me introduce myself, my name is Wannipat Bauted, a Physical Therapist in Thailand. I've got chance to visit Brian's studio since the end of June and these made me know much more about Kettlebell, in spite of I never know this special tool before, and learnt more his techniques how he recovered his pain from "Herniated Disc".
I'd like to give this testimonial to Brian who is a great kettlebell trainer and specialist in the knowledge strength and conditioning. Moreover, he fix his problem by himself, when he suffered from his low back pain in the terrible experience for a long period in past. When I visit him, he gave me other choices of treatments in decreasing back pain and share his knowledge that he learn from healing himself and his clients.
I can confirm that by his knowledge and experiences that he's learned more in his life, which can help people who have these problem as well. No one knows how to recover themselves when they got that pain but Brian did.
As physicians and Physical Therapists we learn all about biomechanics of human body and learn all of the theories but we often don't have the knowledge or experience of how to fix back problem. Why? Because having experience and special knowledge is very important. Brian learnt from working with his own body and then used that experience to help his clients.
In fact, no one is keen on everything, even an excellent physician could give the wrong concept of treatment to you or he might try to give you trial and error treatment. It would be great if you are a luckily person who received a correct treatment that would be matching with yours symptoms, but if not then you are in trouble. By allowing yourself to receive the right ways of treatment from the person who had these experiences himself you will be in a much better position.
For me, I only hope that you guys, who are suffering from the bad experiences like Brian used to, probably give you more choices of treatment for yourselves. No one knows before they try to test the thing and got the real experience by themselves.
We don't have Kettlebells here in Thailand, but I apply some part of Brian's techniques to my patients, and you know what? It works even if I didn't use the real kettlebells. Therefore, kettlebells will probably work for you: in addition, you probably gain more and get more beneficial advantage from your great trainer, Brian.
Thank you,
Wannipat Buated, PT, TH - Bangkok, Thailand
